Join The Arab British Centre and The Barakat Trust for an afternoon of family activities at Leighton House, as part of their In Search of Arab London event series for the London Festival of Architecture.
What is ‘Home’? Is it the people you love? Is it a roof over your head? Is it a place of our own, closed off from the outside? Is it where the heart is?
Join us for a fun-filled workshop for families exploring notions of home as part of the London Festival of Architecture. We’ll watch ‘Damascene Houses’, a ten-minute film commissioned by The Barakat Trust about the traditional residential architecture of Damascus. We’ll have a special tour of Leighton House’s spectacular Arab Hall, and we’ll design our own Damascene dream home and ask ourselves: where will the boundaries be and how will we divide it up? Which room will need the most sunlight and where will we put the plants? What will we use to furnish it?
Ages: 6+
£4 per child, free for accompanying adults. This 1 hour workshop will run at 2 pm and 3 pm. Book in advance on Eventbrite.
