The Barakat Trust and Asia House are very happy to announce the second edition of our dynamic Converging Paths: Creative Encounters with the Islamic World. The series is a curated programme catering to audiences of different ages sharing the arts and heritage of the Islamic world through exciting performances, exhibitions, film, discussions, and events that combine old and new—showcasing vibrant, creative and inspiring cultural experiences. The vision behind Converging Paths is to raise awareness about the cultural richness of the Islamic world, with all its variety of peoples, cultures and religions.
The 2020 programme presents projects that revamp and revive traditions at risk of being forgotten. Converging Paths, which also highlights the influence of the cultures of the Islamic world on the UK, aims to foster cross-cultural understanding, build bridges and raise awareness.
We are grateful to al-Tajir Trust, The Aga Khan Trust for Culture’s Education Programme, MARSM, SOAS, Rich Mix, London Palestine Film Festival, India Pride Project, The Oxford Cultural Collective, AKKA Films, The Arab Puppet Theatre Foundation, Zamkana, King’s Place, and The Arab British Centre, for partnering with us on this exciting initiative.
